Forty years of solid-wood furniture, jointed and finished by hand.

A representative scene

A mood, not the shop itself — claim to add the real photos.

For more than forty years, the same Southeast Portland workshop has been building solid-wood furniture the slow way — jointed, sanded, and oiled by hand, from timber they can tell you the origin of. This is the opposite of flat-pack: a table here is a fifty-year decision, and it's priced and built like one.

Go for the dining tables and the beds, the pieces you'll hand down. Bring a tape measure and an afternoon; the showroom rewards a slow look, and the makers will happily talk grain and joinery longer than you expected.

Is this your shop?

We wrote this page from the outside looking in — with care, but from a distance. If The Joinery is yours, take it. Add your own photographs, correct anything we got wrong, tell the story better than we ever could.

It's free. This page is already out there working for you; all we ask in return is a link back to Blackbird, or a small affiliate so a reader we send your way sends a little back. That's the whole deal.
