Eleven shops, and they cluster. The North Loop holds two within a few blocks of each other — The Foundry Home Goods at 905 North 5th Street and Cooks of Crocus Hill at 210 North 1st. Northeast holds three: Mother Earth Gardens on Lowry Avenue NE, findfurnish on Central Avenue NE, and Willie Willette’s furniture bench on University Avenue NE. Seward carries the clay — Northern Clay Center on Franklin Avenue East — and Tangletown its own namesake greenhouse down on Nicollet Avenue South. Downtown East is the market: South 2nd Street, Saturdays, eight to one, May through September.
Three sit outside the city line, and we say so rather than pretend otherwise: Golden Rule Gallery out in Excelsior, Rose & Loon at Rosedale Center in Roseville, and The Mustache Cat on St. Clair Avenue in Saint Paul.
