Savannah's good shops sit in three or four pockets, and the tightest of them is one block of Whitaker Street. One Fish Two Fish at 401, PW Short Mercantile across the way at 414, Asher + Rye a little north at 348 — home goods, a modern general store, and a shop that does interiors alongside the shelves, all inside a few minutes' walk. Two blocks up, The Paris Market & Brocante holds the corner of Broughton and Bull.
South of that, the Starland District has the ceramics studio on Bull Street; east, Baldwin Park has the plant shop on Waters Avenue. The rest are their own trips — the antique mall out on Montgomery Cross Road in the Southside, the garden shop on Ogeechee Road west of town, and a furniture maker milling his own lumber on Wilmington Island. Saturday mornings, all of it orbits the market at the south end of Forsyth Park.
